She works from home every day on her computer.

So Eve, why do adults work from home?
イブさん、どうして大人は家で仕事をするの？
Home is for playing and eating snacks.
家って遊んだり、おやつを食べたりする場所でしょ。
イブ：
Hi, Junior.
こんにちは、ジュニア。
Well, working from home has many good reasons.
そうね、家で仕事をするのには、いろいろないい理由があるのよ。
We don’t need to drive to an office, we can work in comfortable clothes, and we save time.
会社まで車で行く必要がないし、楽な服装で働けるし、時間も節約できるの。
ジュニア：
But if you’re at home, why not just play?
でも家にいるなら、どうして遊ばないの？
I play at home all the time.
僕は家ではいつも遊んでるよ。
イブ：
Because we still have jobs to do.
家にいても、やらなきゃいけない仕事があるからよ。
We use our computers to work, just like in an office.
会社にいる時と同じように、パソコンを使って仕事をするの。
We write emails, make presentations, and talk to other people.
メールを書いたり、プレゼン資料を作ったり、ほかの人と話したりするのよ。
ジュニア：
Oh, I see you wearing headphones all day.
あっ、一日中ヘッドホンをつけているのを見たことがあるよ。
Are those for fun?
あれは遊ぶためなの？
イブ：
The headphones are for work meetings.
ヘッドホンは仕事の会議で使うのよ。
I talk to people from different places through my computer.
パソコンを通して、いろいろな場所にいる人たちと話すの。
It helps me hear them better.
ヘッドホンがあると、相手の声がよく聞こえるのよ。
ジュニア：
Wait, so you sit at home, wear headphones, look at a screen, and talk to friends?
待って。じゃあ家に座って、ヘッドホンをつけて、画面を見ながら友達と話すってこと？
That sounds like when I play online games.
それって僕がオンラインゲームをしている時みたいだね。
イブ：
It does sound similar, but we’re talking about work projects, not games.
確かに似ているけど、私たちが話しているのはゲームじゃなくて仕事のプロジェクトなの。
We have too many meetings sometimes, and they can be long.
時には会議が多すぎることもあるし、長くなることもあるわ。
ジュニア：
Too many?
多すぎるの？
My teacher says too much of anything isn’t good.
先生は、何でもやりすぎるのはよくないって言ってるよ。
Maybe you should have fewer meetings and more snack time.
会議を減らして、おやつの時間を増やした方がいいんじゃない？
イブ：
You know what, Junior?
そうね、ジュニア。
That’s actually smart.
それ、実はいい考えね。
We probably do have too many meetings.
確かに会議が多すぎるのかもしれないわ。
Maybe we could work better with fewer meetings.
会議を減らした方が、もっと効率よく働けるかもしれないわね。
ジュニア：
See?
ほらね？
Working from home should be more fun.
家での仕事はもっと楽しくするべきだよ。
You could work a little and play a little.
少し仕事をして、少し遊べばいいんだよ。
イブ：
You’re making me think, Junior.
考えさせられるわね、ジュニア。
Working from home does give us freedom.
確かに在宅勤務には自由があるわ。
Maybe we should remember to enjoy it more, not just work all the time.
ずっと仕事ばかりするんじゃなくて、もっと楽しむことも忘れないようにした方がいいのかもしれないわね。
