Lucy and Lin are on a train at night. They’re getting ready to go to sleep in their room.
ルーシーとリンは夜の列車に乗っています。二人は個室で寝る準備をしています。
Suddenly, they hear a scream.
突然、悲鳴が聞こえてきました。
Lucy: Did you hear that?
ルーシー：今の聞こえた？
Lin: Yeah. Maybe someone is in danger.
リン：うん。誰かが危険な目に遭っているのかも。
Lucy listens at the door.
ルーシーはドアに耳を当てます。
Lucy: Let me see if everything is OK.
ルーシー：何が起きているのか確認してくるわ。
Lin: No! Maybe a murderer is outside our room!
リン：だめ！ 殺人犯が部屋の外にいるかもしれないじゃない！
Lucy: You watch too much TV.
ルーシー：テレビの見過ぎよ。
Lin: I don’t want someone to kill me!
リン：誰かに殺されたくないわ！
Lucy: I’ll feel better if I see what’s happening.
ルーシー：何が起きているのか見たほうが安心できるの。
Lin: And I’ll feel better if you lock the door and go to sleep.
リン：私はドアに鍵をかけて寝てくれたほうが安心するわ。
Lucy: Fine. I’ll stay here.
ルーシー：分かったわ。ここにいることにする。
Later, in the middle of the night, Lin wakes up. She sees that Lucy is not in her bed.
その後、真夜中にリンは目を覚ましました。ルーシーがベッドにいないことに気付きます。
Lin: Oh, no! Where’s Grandma?
リン：大変！ おばあちゃんはどこ？
Lin walks into the hallway. Suddenly, she hears Lucy scream in the next room.
リンは廊下へ出ます。すると突然、隣の部屋からルーシーの悲鳴が聞こえてきました。
She runs to the door and opens it.
彼女はドアまで走り、勢いよく開けました。
Inside the room, Lucy is playing cards with a group of women.
部屋の中では、ルーシーが女性たちとトランプをしていました。
Lin: Grandma? Why did you scream?!
リン：おばあちゃん？ どうして悲鳴を上げたの？！
Lucy: Lin! Meet my new friend, Jane! She’s not a murderer.
ルーシー：リン！ 新しい友達のジェーンよ！ 殺人犯じゃないわ。
Lucy: But she did just take $100 from me in our card game.
ルーシー：でも、さっきトランプで私から100ドル取ったところなのよ。
