Bea is visiting Lin at her grandma Lucy’s house.
ビーはリンの祖母ルーシーの家を訪れています。
She sees a huge pile of dirty clothes on the floor.
床には汚れた服が山のように積まれています。
Bea: Lin… when did you last do laundry?
ビー：リン、最後に洗濯したのはいつ？
Lin: I don’t know. A few weeks ago? Maybe a month?
リン：分からない。数週間前かな？ もしかすると1か月前？
Bea: A month?! That’s terrible! We’re going to the laundromat right now.
ビー：1か月？！それはひどいよ！今すぐコインランドリーへ行こう。
Lin: But I still have clean socks somewhere.
リン：でも、どこかにまだきれいな靴下があるよ。
Bea: Get up. Let’s go. Now.
ビー：立って。行くよ。今すぐ。
They arrive at the laundromat. Every machine is being used.
二人はコインランドリーに到着しました。すべての洗濯機が使われています。
Bea: No! They’re all taken! I should have called to reserve one.
ビー：うそ！全部埋まってる！予約の電話をしておくべきだった。
Lin: You can reserve laundry machines?
リン：洗濯機って予約できるの？
Bea: Some places let you do that, yes!
ビー：場所によってはできるよ！
Lin: That’s so funny. OK, well, let’s just go home.
リン：それ面白いね。じゃあ帰ろうよ。
Bea: No. We are waiting.
ビー：いいえ。待つよ。
A woman finishes her laundry. She sees Lin and smiles.
一人の女性が洗濯を終え、リンを見てほほえみます。
Woman: Hey! You fixed my motorcycle last month! Here, you can have my machine.
女性：あっ！先月、私のバイクを修理してくれたよね！どうぞ、この洗濯機を使って。
Lin: Thanks!
リン：ありがとう！
Bea: Of course someone just gives you a machine. Of course.
ビー：やっぱり誰かが洗濯機を譲ってくれるんだね。やっぱり。
Lin puts her clothes in the machine. She checks the pockets first.

Lin: Oh, nice! Twenty dollars!

Bea: You found twenty dollars in your dirty laundry?!

Bea: You made thirty dollars doing laundry. I can’t believe this.

Lin: Maybe I should let my laundry pile up more often.
リン：もっと洗濯物をためた方がいいのかも。
Bea: Don’t you dare.
