Lucy and Oscar arrive at a new French restaurant downtown. The menu is entirely in French.
ルーシーとオスカーは街の新しいフランス料理店にやって来ます。メニューはすべてフランス語で書かれています。
オスカー：
Finally, a restaurant with some class. No pictures on the menu. No English. Perfect.
やっと品のあるレストランだ。メニューに写真もないし、英語もない。完璧だ。
ルーシー：
Can you read it?
読めるの？
オスカー：
Of course I can read it. I studied French for years.
もちろん読めるさ。何年もフランス語を勉強したんだから。
ルーシー：
Oh really? What does this first one say?
本当に？じゃあ最初の料理は何て書いてあるの？
オスカー：
It’s a roasted chicken with a wine sauce. The description here is exquisite.
ワインソースのローストチキンだよ。説明文も実に素晴らしい。
ルーシー：
And this one?
じゃあこれは？
オスカー：
A classic beef dish. Very traditional. I’ll order for both of us.
伝統的な牛肉料理だ。とてもクラシックだね。二人分まとめて注文するよ。
The waiter approaches their table.
ウェイターが二人のテーブルへやって来ます。
オスカー：
Bonjour! We will have the poulet, and also the… boeuf à la… this one here.

ウェイター：
Are you sure, sir?
本当によろしいですか、お客様？
オスカー：
Yes, I’m sure!

Twenty minutes later, the waiter returns. He places a roasted chicken in front of Lucy and a large plate of frogs’ legs in front of Oscar.
20分後、ウェイターが戻ってきます。ルーシーの前にはローストチキン、オスカーの前には大きなカエルの脚料理が置かれました。
オスカー：
What is this?

ウェイター：
The grenouilles, sir. Exactly what you ordered.

Interesting beef, Oscar.

オスカー：
I knew what I was ordering. This is a delicacy.
