I visited a park in Rio de Janeiro and hung out with locals who love spending time outside.
リオデジャネイロの公園を訪れて、外で過ごすのが好きな地元の人たちと一緒に過ごしました。
I met Mike, who hangs out at the park often.
そこで、公園によく遊びに来るマイクに会いました。
He told me about the games people play here.
マイクが、ここでみんなが遊んでいるゲームについて教えてくれました。
マイク：
People like to hang out after work or school.
みんな仕事や学校のあとに、ここで一緒に過ごすのが好きなんです。
One game we play is soccer, of course.
もちろん、みんなで遊ぶゲームの一つはサッカーです。
ビー：
Soccer is so popular here, but Mike told me there are other games at the park too.
ここではサッカーがとても人気ですが、マイクによると公園ではほかのゲームでも遊ぶそうです。
マイク：
We also play a game called peteca.
ペテカというゲームでも遊びます。
It’s like volleyball, but we hit a shuttle with our hand.
バレーボールのようなゲームですが、シャトルを手で打つんです。
ビー：
How fun is that?
楽しそうじゃないですか？
I even tried peteca myself.
私も実際にペテカをやってみました。
Spoiler, I wasn’t very good.
先に言ってしまうと、あまり上手ではありませんでした。
マイク：
Kids also love coconut bowling.
子どもたちはココナッツボウリングも大好きです。
We roll coconuts to knock down jars.
ココナッツを転がして瓶を倒します。
It’s messy, but so much fun.
散らかりますが、とても楽しいんです。
ビー：
Wow, these games are creative and make everyone laugh.
わあ、どのゲームも工夫されていて、みんなを笑顔にしてくれますね。
What a great way to hang out together.
みんなで一緒に過ごすには、とてもいい方法ですね。
マイク：
Parks here are great for relaxing, playing games, or just watching the sunset.
ここの公園は、くつろいだり、ゲームをしたり、ただ夕日を眺めたりするのにぴったりです。
It’s the best part of the day.
一日の中で最高の時間ですよ。
ビー：
I liked learning about Brazil’s fun park culture.
ブラジルの楽しい公園文化について知ることができてよかったです。
I might even bring coconut bowling back home.
ココナッツボウリングを家に持ち帰ってみようかな。
